INTRODUCING THE PLIANT OFFSHORE CIS
The Cable Inspection System (CIS) inspects cables for visual signs of damage. During loading of the cable, the cable is monitored for visual defects by multiple RGB cameras. The system can interface with the deck equipment to automatically stop the loading process when detecting damaged cables. Repairs can be made which prevents the cable from being damaged even further.
During laying of the cable another inspection is performed, enabling repairs before the cable goes into the water.
The complete installation is digitally saved for future analysis.
cis as part of the cable lay process
The Cable Inspection System can be part of the full cable lay process. As well as our other products: the Departure Angle Measurement System (DAMS) and the Cable Alignment System (CAS). All combined, will minimize cable damage and safe time and money.
